The Carbon Table: A Roundtable for Lottery Sustainability Leaders

The Carbon Table: A Roundtable for Lottery Sustainability Leaders will bring together EL Environmental Initiative member lotteries for a focused conversation on carbon measurement.

Ahead of the session, a Carbon Measurement Baseline Questionnaire was circulated to member lotteries to better understand current practice across the sector. The survey explored whether Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions are being measured and disclosed, the methodologies being used, challenges around data quality and supplier collaboration, and progress against reporting frameworks such as the CSRD/ESRS and Science Based Targets.

With 20 lotteries taking part, the questionnaire provides a first benchmark of where the sector currently stands on carbon measurement and reporting.

The session will begin with a presentation of the headline findings before opening the floor for discussion. Participants will explore what is working, where the biggest barriers to improving Scope 3 data remain, and whether there is an appetite for greater collaboration to close reporting gaps and achieve more consistent and comparable reporting across lotteries.

Rather than a one-way presentation, The Carbon Table is designed as an intimate, conversational session centred on exchange between sustainability leaders. Participants are encouraged to bring their questions, experiences and perspectives to the discussion.
