EL/WLA Sustainable & Responsible Gaming Seminar 2026

The EL/WLA Responsible Gaming & Sustainability Seminar 2026 will take place in Milan, Italy, from 16 to 18 September 2026, bringing together sector leaders, regulators, researchers and practitioners for high-level dialogue and collaboration.

Hosted by Sisal S.p.A, the seminar will address emerging trends, evolving expectations and innovative approaches designed to strengthen player protection, social responsibility and long-term impact across the lottery sector.

Under the theme “Driving Impact, Raising Standards”, participants will explore the new EL Responsible Gaming Standards, alongside major WLA sustainability initiatives shaping the future of the sector.

The programme will feature keynote interventions from internationally recognised experts, as well as practical case studies and best practices from EL and WLA members. The event will provide a platform to exchange ideas, measure impact and define the next generation of responsible and sustainable gaming leadership.

Confirmed keynote speakers include:

• Dr. Michael Wohl, Professor of Psychology at Carleton University, who will deliver a keynote on “Empathy Engineering” 
• Dr. Néstor Szerman, President of the World Association on Dual Disorders (WADD), who will explore the intersection between gambling-related harm and mental health
• Professor Paolo Taticchi, Professor of Strategy and Sustainability at University College London, who will discuss how sustainability can become a catalyst for innovation, growth and long-term value creation.

The seminar is aimed at professionals with a specific interest in Corporate Social Responsibility and Responsible Gaming, as well as those working in Corporate Affairs, Public Relations and Corporate Communications.
