EL Corporate University Induction 2026

The EL Corporate University Induction 2026 will take place in Zagreb, Croatia, from 30 November to 3 December 2026, hosted by The Croatian National Lottery.

Designed for newly recruited lottery professionals and “cadets” with up to three years of lottery experience, the induction offers participants a broad introduction to the lottery sector, its operating environment and the role lotteries play in society.

Over two and a half days, participants will explore the full range of lottery organisation, games, activities, channels and development, alongside the wider regulatory and competitive environment in which lotteries operate in Europe. The programme will also place these topics within the context of the strategy of The European Lotteries and the model it stands for.

Participants will gain insight into what lotteries are, what they do and why they exist, as well as how lottery organisations can respond to the needs of customers, agents, suppliers, the public, media and regulators. The induction will also cover lottery game design, sports betting, responsible gaming, CSR and ESG, retailing, digitalisation of retail, digital marketing, player profiles, draws, advertising and marketing, legal and integrity issues, PR, communication, social media and storytelling.

In addition to formal presentations, the programme will include breakout case studies, interactive exercises and design activities, with participants presenting solutions as part of the learning experience.

The programme will be led by Ray Bates, EL Honorary President and former Director of the Irish National Lottery, together with a team of experienced speakers and experts from across the lottery sector.

All sessions, including presentations, exercises and case studies, will be conducted in English.
