The Illinois Lottery is seeking a Lottery Drawing Specialist for its Operations & Technology Division. This salaried union position offers an anticipated starting salary of $4,412 per month, within a range of $4,412 to $5,991 monthly. Position Overview: The Lottery Drawing Specialist plays a crucial role in the heart of on-line lottery drawings, including games like Lotto, Pick 3, Pick 4, MegaMillions, and Powerball. The position requires collaboration with a team to ensure the validity and integrity of lottery drawings, adhering to Illinois statutes, Multi-State Lottery Association Rules (MUSL), and established lottery drawing procedures. The position involves working an evening shift from Saturday to Wednesday, 4:15 PM to 12:15 AM, including weekends and holidays.

Essential Functions:

  1. Serve in one of three drawing capacities (Draw Coordinator, Draw Observer, Draw Operator) to maintain drawing integrity.
  2. Produce system reports and related drawing information.
  3. Maintain disaster recovery protocol documentation for daily drawings.
  4. Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One year of skilled computer system experience, preferably in a lottery or gaming setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of information processing system operation principles.
  • Understanding of computer operations, security, and system control monitoring.
  • Ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Competence in compiling and maintaining logs and reports using Lottery gaming systems, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of high school level mathematics.
