The Virginia Lottery is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Director of Gaming Operations at their headquarters in Richmond, VA. This full-time role offers a competitive salary ranging from $125,000 to $164,209 annually. The Director will play a critical role in overseeing and coordinating the operations of casino gaming and mobile sports betting within the state, ensuring compliance with established regulations.

Key responsibilities of the role include planning, directing, and coordinating activities related to casino and sports betting operations. The Director will serve as an essential participant in casino planning meetings, ensuring that all milestones and technical requirements are met according to state regulations. This role also involves analyzing operator directives, developing internal policies, reviewing operator requests, and ensuring all operations comply with relevant laws and regulations.

Additionally, the Director will manage the technical requirements of the Gaming Compliance department, which includes overseeing the central system that communicates with all casino equipment, including slot machines. The role demands extensive coordination with casinos, slot machine providers, and independent test labs to ensure all required software and hardware are properly installed and tested before going live.

The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Systems Management, or a related field, along with at least 10 years of technical experience in the gaming industry. Candidates should also have a minimum of five years of supervisory experience in operations or contract management roles. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of gaming regulations, and the ability to manage complex projects and contracts across the state. Proficiency in desktop applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential, as well as excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.

Virginia Lottery experience is preferred, and the role requires the completion of a background investigation and a valid driver's license. The job may also involve irregular hours and travel throughout Virginia.
