Enhancing Responsible Gaming and Environmental Practices with Project R.E.D.

At digitalRG.com, we are passionate about empowering lotteries worldwide to achieve excellence in responsible gaming and environmental sustainability. Currently, over 50 lotteries in 35 countries have joined us, representing a united commitment to industry leadership in responsible gaming and environmental practices.

In this article, we'll introduce you to Project RED, a game-changing initiative designed to foster collaboration and innovation across the lottery sector.

Why Project RED?

Project RED, which stands for Responsible, Ethical, and Dynamic, is a collaborative initiative led by a WLA working group in collaboration with NASPL, ALA, CIBELAE, EL, and APLA. Its goal is to enhance the impact of lotteries through shared learning, best practices, and strategic tools.

Unlocking Project RED Tools

By joining Project RED, lotteries gain access to a suite of innovative tools:

• The Intelligence Database: A powerful platform to visualize trends and benchmark your practices. This tool enables lotteries to evaluate their strategies, identify opportunities, and shape impactful initiatives.
• Case Studies: A curated collection of real-world solutions from peer organizations. Delve into how other lotteries address challenges in responsible gaming and environmental impact.
• The Directory: A networking hub that connects you with industry peers worldwide. Share insights, ask questions, and collaborate on innovative projects.

Getting Started: The Self-Assessment Questionnaire

The first step to unlocking these tools is completing at least 50% of the self-assessment questionnaire. This quick and intuitive survey covers key areas such as:

• Responsible Gaming where you will be asked things like "Does your lottery have a responsible gaming policy or program?" or "Do you train staff on recognizing signs of gambling-related harm?"
• Environmental Impact:  where you can provide insights answering things like "Does your lottery have a publicly disclosed environmental strategy?" or "Are you measuring greenhouse gas emissions?"
• And finally a  Success Stories section where you can showcase one of your lottery’s best practices that you are particularly proud of.

Once your lottery has provided information on its own practices regarding environmental impact and responsible gaming, you will have access to the tools mentioned above.
