Summary of the Webinar on WLA Certification Process

The webinar, led by Melissa Azam, covered the WLA (World Lottery Association) certification process, highlighting its importance and various aspects. The session, lasting an hour, included explanations on the platform's functionality by Victoria Ferrando, a case study from a SELAE (Spanish lottery), and insights from an Argentinian lottery's experience (IPLYC).

Melissa Assam, head of the certification program since 2008 at WLA, emphasised the significance of responsible gaming and corporate social responsibility within the WLA, distinguishing its members from both legal and illegal competitors. The certification process consists of four levels, each progressively demanding more commitment and implementation of responsible gaming practices.

Victoria from DigitalRG detailed the platform's functionalities and how it aids lotteries in achieving certification. The platform facilitates self-assessment, the identification of program elements for development, and the implementation of these programs. She highlighted the mandatory use of DigitalRG for certification submissions from October 1st, simplifying and standardising the process.

María Núñez from SELAE presented a case study, emphasising the importance of reporting and measurement in responsible gaming. She discussed setting specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound (SMART) indicators and the role of tools and transparent reports in continuous improvement.

Isabel Zilveti from Argentina's IPLYC, shared her experience with the certification process, noting how the DigitalRG platform made it manageable and systematic. She praised the platform's user-friendliness and the crucial support from Victoria, which helped them complete the certification in just over a month.

The webinar concluded with a Q&A session and encouraging participants to utilise available resources and support for successful certification.
